❝I do not have deep technical skills in Power BI. Can I still add value to the Conference?❞
I do not consider myself having a high set of technical skills in the implementation of Power BI, hence was not sure of the value I could add to the conference.
When I delivered my message, I realized that there was indeed value in what I did with Power BI.

❝I have spoken with clients and small groups, but the idea of speaking to a larger group made me nervous!❞
Doubts? I had so many doubts when I applied to speak, where do I start?
My first worry was that my dashboard pages and data model would be too simple to be useful to the audience.
Speaking with clients and small groups has been easy for me, but the idea of speaking to a larger group of people made me very nervous. I was worried that my nerves would hinder me from communicating effectively.
I knew I would have some things to learn, and I worried that I wouldn't have time to adequately prepare..
Results! Before the conference, the speaker presentation training and prep sessions provided by Avi, were very helpful. They helped me create and deliver a presentation that really connected with the audience.
During the conference, Avi set the tone of the session and the audience were welcoming and supportive.
Even though my dashboards were simple, the conference community gave me encouragement before, during and after the presentation. It was a pleasure to connect with many of the attendees through LinkedIn after the conference.
Takeaway: After the conference, I realized that I had learned from all the speakers, not just those who did really well with public speaking. Even when things didn't go exactly as planned, the presentations were useful. It turns out that humans don't need perfection to learn from one another. I learned things that will help me serve my clients and build better dashboards.
